Is the act
of smiling more important than the feeling behind it? And would you still want
a smile from a complete stranger if you knew it wasn't genuine but rather,
caused by your specific desire or preference to see it? In this episode, emulating
Freakonomics, I want to challenge the idea of strictly smiling to please and
why this is a problem by drawing from research on the effects of smiling and my
personal experience.
