Alison Lyn, W14; Software

I thought of using iPodder but I found that the program was too completed for me to figure out all of the aspects and features that are involved in the program. I was also going to use the voice recorder on my cell phone, or an old fashion tape recorder, however, they do not give me the ability to mix audios as well as other things I might need for the podcast. My voice also comes out hazy and not as clear, as I would want it to be. Because of this I have decided to use Audacity.

Audacity’s website has links to manuals, tutorials, and explanations about how to work the various features within the program, and it is also free. I think this program will be very helpful and necessary for me when I begin the recording process. Since I’m completely new to the program, I watched some Youtube videos which served as an introduction to the basics of Audacity, like how to record, amplify sections of a track, minimize white noise, alter the pitch and tempo of the audio file, and delete sections of the track. I’m really think that this is the program to get me through this project because it is an easy software to use and it gets the job done. When I tested it, I found that there was a little bit of static or noise in the background, but I am sure that during editing it will be fine.
