Alison Lyn, W14; Digging Deeper

The steps that I have taken so far to begin the research process if to filter out the sites and articles that have not necessarily given me any useful information on my topic. And after the feedback I got from my podcast pitch, I have a lot more work in front of me in order to get my topic specific and persuasive enough to capture my audience. I may need to also change the angle that I am going to approach the topic to make it effective. Therefore I will need to put more time into the different types of research and resources in order to refine my topic and get the appropriate research and sources.

The most popular sources that I have found so far are news articles like NBC and ABC News as well as blog and overall review articles of the general topic. Meaning that they are focusing on the issue and the types of procedures that are taking place. I have found a few scholarly articles on the general topic from ProQuest and York University’s eResources library. These resources focus on the funding and cost as well as the types of procedures and types of animals most likely to get them.

The types of resources that I will be looking for will be news reports, magazine articles, as well as scholarly articles on the ethics of these surgeries to get enough information to pick the best information as I possibly can.
